Life As It Happens.

by Jacob P Poehls

I provide natural, candid wedding photography for couples who want their true story told without feeling forced, staged, or held up by rigid posing. Focusing on both the big moments and the quiet, unscripted interactions, I capture the authentic feel of your day so you can stay fully present in every moment.

WELCOME

I’m Jacob. A Chicago-based wedding photographer since 2010 documenting weddings with intention, artistry, and understanding. The best photos happen when you're too busy living the moment to think about the camera. That's been my philosophy. I blend documentary storytelling with an editorial eye, capturing the real energy, movement, and emotion of your day without pulling you out of it. The goal is simple: photographs that feel as cool, effortless, and unforgettable as the memories themselves.

Real Is The New Classic

I photograph weddings the way they feel:

spontaneous, unforced, and rich with meaning.

My Approach Is Simple:

I build a comfortable environment where you can forget the camera is even there. This allows me to tell the full, honest narrative of your celebrationβ€”from the quiet morning anticipation to the raw energy of the reception.
